December 2023 – Kiwi Harvest move on site
After untenable rent increases in August, the Hub offers up land for Kiwi Harvest to relocate to. Semi temporary containers with a shelter are errected and the new location is up and running for Xmas
November 2023 – Wingates first draft made public
Drawings by Wingates Architects are released to stakeholders
August 2023 – Wingates first draft created
Following consulation earlier in the year with stakeholders, concept ideas are revealed by Wingates
April 2023 – Wingates Architech appointed
Award winning Architects Wingates with previous experience with community hubs is appointed and consultation with stakeholds steps up
March 2023 – Lease approved
QLDC & councillors approve the lease for the Whakatipu Hub
Jan 2023 – Expression of Interest
QLDC consultation closed and no submissions received against the proposal.
November 2022 – New Trustee
Treasurer Heath Copland is voted in as new Trustee
November 2022 – Public Consulation of the Expression of Interest
QLDC took the Expression of Interest to the public for consultation
June 2022 – Expression of Interest
QLDC asked for Expressions of Interest for use of land around the Queenstown Event Centre
August 2021- Administrator Employed
Sharon Salmons was appointed
April 2021 – Name Change
The Trust was updated to the Whakatipu Community Hub Charitable Trust
Winter 2020 – Land search continues
The original location to build the hub falls through so the search continues for suitable land. Covid delays progress
July 2019 – Establishing the Trust
The Queenstown Community Hub Charitable Trust was established in 2019
