Interested in being a Trustee?

Are you someone who doesn’t just talk the talk but walks the walk when it comes to community engagement and development? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved in every aspect of building and funding the Whakatipu Community Hub? If so, we need you to become a Trustee and be at the heart of making our vision a reality!

As a Trustee, you won’t just sit back and watch things happen – you’ll be in the thick of it, leading the charge to secure funding, help with strategic direction for construction, and ensure that the hub truly serves the needs of our diverse community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Get hands-on in securing funding and resources for the construction and development of the Whakatipu Community Hub.
  • Lead the charge in collaborating with local government, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to secure grants, donations, and sponsorships.
  • Dive into the planning and construction process, working closely with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the hub’s design meets the diverse needs of our community.
  • Be the face of the Whakatipu Community Hub, representing us at events, meetings, and in the community, and advocating passionately for the interests of the project .

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in governance, leadership, or community development roles is preferred but not essential.
  • A doer, not just a talker, with an interest and proven hands-on involvement in community projects or initiatives.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills – because getting things done sometimes means thinking outside the box.
  • Passion for making a tangible, lasting impact in the Whakatipu community and a commitment to seeing projects through from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Whakatipu community’s unique characteristics, challenges, and opportunities.
